Oklahoma – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol recently visited an elementary classroom in Moore as part of a community outreach event focused on traffic safety and student engagement.
According to officials, Lieutenant Heat Ragland along with Troopers Wright, McAlister, and Edsel met with students in Amy Chase’s class after the students wrote letters to Troop S for First Responder Appreciation.
During the visit, troopers spoke with students about the importance of wearing seatbelts, staying alert near roadways, and practicing safety while walking to and from school or spending time outdoors.
Following the classroom discussion, students were given the opportunity to view patrol vehicles up close, observe emergency lights and sirens, and ask questions about law enforcement equipment and daily duties. Troopers also provided students with small mementos from the visit.
Officials said the event helped strengthen community relations while providing students with an educational experience centered on public safety.
