Lawton, OK – The Lawton Police Department is honoring fallen military service members as part of Memorial Day observances, recognizing those who gave their lives in service to the United States.
In a statement released ahead of the holiday weekend, the department asked the community to take time to reflect on the sacrifices made by members of the armed forces who died while serving.
Officials also encouraged residents to travel safely, celebrate responsibly, and look out for one another during the holiday period.
The department said the observance is meant to ensure that the sacrifice of fallen service members is remembered and never forgotten.
