Lawton volunteers remove 340 pounds of litter during Stream Clean Saturday

Lawton, OK – Volunteers in Lawton helped remove 340 pounds of litter from a local creek during this month’s Stream Clean Saturday event.

According to the City of Lawton, volunteers spent the morning cleaning Meadowbrook Creek, the middle branch of Wolf Creek that runs through the open field between Patriot Cinemas and Walmart near Northwest 67th Street.

The cleanup effort brought together community members who worked to improve the area and help create a cleaner environment.

The city thanked Boy Scout Troop 4175, Lady Luxury Lanes, Charles, Jerry, and Jordan for volunteering their time and helping make an impact during the event.

Officials said each cleanup effort helps support a cleaner and healthier community while encouraging residents to take part in protecting local waterways.

The City of Lawton said it looks forward to continuing the Stream Clean Saturday program and welcoming more volunteers at future events.
