Lawton, OK – Volunteers helped make a difference in Lawton’s waterways during this month’s Stream Clean Saturday, removing 340 pounds of litter from Wolf Creek south of Gore Boulevard.
According to the City of Lawton, volunteers spent the morning collecting trash and debris from the area as part of the community cleanup effort aimed at improving local waterways and creating a cleaner environment.
The city thanked everyone who participated, including Kella, Jensen, Denise, Jeff, Sharmaine, Jerry, and Jordan, along with members of the Cameron University Science Department and Biology Club for joining the cleanup.
Officials praised the volunteers for taking time to help protect the community and said each cleanup effort contributes to a healthier and more enjoyable environment for residents.
The City of Lawton continues to encourage community members to take part in future Stream Clean Saturday events and other local efforts focused on maintaining public spaces.
