Lawton Police Department investigating shooting on NW 44th Street, one person injured 

Lawton, OK – Lawton Police Department officials said the shooting occurred on NW 44th Street.

Lawton Police Department officers responded to a shooting call.

When the officers arrived on scene, they found one victim. The victim, later identified as Dakota Teel, was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

After interviewing Teel, it was determined that Brenden Henry was the suspect in this case.

Teel stated he drove his car and stopped at a friend’s house, at 2308 NW 44M ST.

While talking to his friend, another male later identified as Brenden, came outside with a gun and demanded Teel’s belongings and car.

Henry then shot Teel in the leg and then stole his car.

Teel then ran to a nearby house and called for help.

At approximately 1755 hours, officers with the Lawton Police Department were dispatched to a residence on reports of a male slumped over in a vehicle.

Officers determined that the male was Brenden Henry and that he was in Teel’s stolen vehicle.

Henry was taken into custody and booked into the Lawton City Jail for robbery and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
