Lawton, OK – The City of Lawton and the Museum of the Great Plains held a two-day symposium on March 27-28 to honor the New Deal’s lasting impact.
Attendees were treated to expert talks and tours of iconic sites, including Ron Stephens Stadium and the Highland Cemetery Arch, built under New Deal programs.
On Day 2, the group explored the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, visiting historic landmarks such as Mount Scott and Holy City, showcasing the New Deal’s lasting mark on American history.
