Lawton Police Department partners with Oklahoma Highway Safety Office to host Motorcycle Safety Rider Course at Fort Sill 

Lawton, OK – The Lawton Police Department has announced a partnership with the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office to offer a Motorcycle Safety Rider Course aimed at improving rider awareness and road safety.

The course is scheduled for June 5, 2026, and will be held at the Fort Sill motorcycle skills pad located on the Fort Sill military base.

According to the department, the training session is designed to help riders improve essential safety skills under the instruction of experienced Lawton Police Department Motor Unit officers.

The course is open to both new and experienced riders who want to enhance their safety on the road.

Participants are required to provide their own motorcycle for the training.

Lawton police emphasized that the program is intended to promote safer riding practices and reduce roadway risks, noting that all road users share responsibility for safety.
