Splash Parks in Lawton Closed Due to Weather and Improvements

LAWTON, Okla. – The splash park at Elmer Thomas Park on 2nd and Ferris is closed today (07-28-20) due to inclement weather. With recent thunderstorms and rain along with the forecast for storms later this evening the City of Lawton has closed the park for the day. It will re-open tomorrow at it’s regularly scheduled time, weather permitting.

The other splash park in Lawton is also closed at this time. The Clement Washington Spray Park on 6th and Belmont Ave is undergoing some construction. The city will be making needed improvements to the splash or spray park and it’s scheduled to re-open on Monday, August 3rd 2020 (08-03-20).

As soon as we get an update on the Clement Washington Spray Park we’ll be sure to let you know and post what improvements have been made. I know all the neighborhood kids are looking forward to it and there’s only a few more weeks left of Summer. I want to say the first day of school is (08-21-20). You have to get your swimming and splash park time in while you still can.

If you plan on visiting any of the city’s splash or spray parks please be sure to follow all the rules and safe regulations along with social distancing practices. Below is the official press release from the city of Lawton about the parks.
