New Jersey – A New Jersey family members were taken into custody were arrested and charged with homicide in connection to the death of their family friend. Both father and son, 55-year-old E. Hanah and his child, 17, who was not identified due to his age, are charged with homicide and weapons offenses in connection to the fatal beating of the victim.
According to the New Jersey authorities, the confrontation stemmed from an alleged assault on the victim’s child by the defendant’s son. the previous day. Seeking to address the incident, the victim and his daughter visited the defendant’s residence in New Jersey. Upon arrival, a physical altercation ensued.
According to prosecutors, the defendant’s son suffered facial injuries before he punched the victim in the face and then struck him multiple times in the head with a metaI basebaII b at.
The defendant (SEE PHOTO) then allegedly joined the assault, hitting the victim in the back of the head with a metaI fIashlight. During the chaos, the victim’s daughter was also struck in the head.
Emergency responders transported the victim to a local hospital with plans to airlift him to another hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries en route.
Both defendants. were arrested on the same day. She is currently held at the county jail, while his family member is detained in a juvenile facility. The defendant’s son also faces an additional charge of aggravated assault related to the initial incident involving the victim’s daughter.

He described the defendant as a lifelong friend of the family, noting, that the man went to school with his oldest brother and that they’ve known him their whole lives. The family members never expected something like this to happen.
