Oklahoma – Oklahoma emergency response agencies worked together to rescue an injured hiker from the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge during a June 20 hoist rescue operation.
The Oklahoma National Guard said the mission highlighted the strength of partnerships between multiple agencies, including the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Oklahoma Task Force 1, Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management, and local first responders.
Through coordination, training, and a shared commitment to service, the teams worked together to bring the injured hiker to safety.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol emphasized the importance of those partnerships, saying no resource would be spared when Oklahomans need help.
“We’re grateful for the partners who answer the call without hesitation and simply say, ‘Send me,’” the agency said.
The rescue demonstrated the ability of Oklahoma’s emergency response teams to work together during challenging situations. Officials said the collaboration between agencies ensures that when emergencies happen, responders are prepared to act quickly and effectively.
The Oklahoma National Guard said its mission extends beyond military readiness, with members remaining committed to supporting communities across the state during emergencies and disasters.
From local rescues to statewide responses, officials said these partnerships help keep Oklahoma prepared when the call for help comes.
The agencies involved thanked the responders who participated in the rescue and highlighted the dedication of those who continue serving communities across Oklahoma.
