Lawton, OK – The Lawton Police Department announced the retirement of Sergeant Greg Ellis, Badge #108, following 29½ years of service to the Lawton-Fort Sill community.
According to the department, Ellis began his career on January 4, 1997, and spent approximately 22 years in the Patrol Division. During that time, he responded to calls for service, worked to protect the community, and helped mentor fellow officers.
For the past 7½ years, Ellis served as the department’s Fleet Officer, overseeing patrol vehicles and equipment to ensure they remained safe, reliable, and ready for daily operations.
Officials said Ellis demonstrated professionalism and dedication throughout his career, with contributions that had a lasting impact on both the department and the community he served.
The Lawton Police Department expressed its appreciation for his years of service and extended well wishes as he begins retirement. The department noted that while Ellis is stepping away from active duty, he will remain part of the agency’s extended family.
