Lawton, OK – Lawton firefighters came out on top during the annual Boots & Badges Blood Drive, but officials said the real winners were the patients who will benefit from the lifesaving donations.
The City of Lawton announced the final results of the community blood drive on July 23, with Lawton Fire receiving the highest number of votes in the friendly competition between local first responders.
Lawton Fire finished in first place with 62 votes, followed by Lawton Police with 53 votes and EMS with 18 votes.
Officials thanked everyone who participated by donating blood and helping support patients across Oklahoma. The city said each donation will contribute to saving lives and making a difference for those in need.
Although the event included a friendly rivalry between fire, police, and EMS personnel, organizers emphasized that the biggest victory came from the community’s willingness to give back.
The City of Lawton expressed appreciation to everyone who attended the Boots & Badges Blood Drive and helped make the event a success.
