Lawton community volunteers collect multiple truckloads of trash during Stream Clean initiative

Lawton, OK — Volunteers across Lawton participated in a weekend cleanup effort that removed several truckloads of trash from local waterways and neighborhoods, according to the City of Lawton.

The Stream Clean initiative brought together community members working at Numu Creek, where volunteers collected two truckloads of debris.

Organizers said the effort included participants from local organizations and families who contributed their time to improve the area.

In a separate cleanup effort, a group led by Calvary Baptist Church worked in the Beal/Woods neighborhood and removed four additional truckloads of trash.

City officials expressed appreciation for the volunteers, noting that their efforts helped improve environmental conditions and supported ongoing community maintenance initiatives.

The city said the event highlights the importance of community involvement in keeping public spaces clean and maintained.
