Oklahoma City, OK – A fatal crash early Sunday morning on U.S. Highway 259 near Hayworth, Oklahoma, has left three people dead, authorities confirmed.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) responded to the scene at approximately 2:21 a.m. on Sunday, December 8, after a red minivan driven by Matthew Williston, 35, of an unknown address, veered left of center and collided with an oncoming white Chevy Silverado.
According to OHP, Williston was traveling northbound on U.S. 259 near the intersection with Old 41 Road when the minivan drifted into the opposite lane and struck the Silverado. Williston was accompanied by two passengers in the minivan, identified as Jimmy Savell White, 65, and Quinton Ardwin, 54. Both passengers, along with Williston, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Chevy Silverado, whose name has not yet been released, was not injured in the collision, according to authorities.
OHP officials are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash, though at this time, there are no further details on potential factors such as weather or impaired driving.
The identities of the victims are expected to be released once next of kin have been notified.
This tragedy marks the second fatal collision in the Hayworth area in just over a week, prompting concerns about road safety. Local authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution, particularly on rural highways where visibility and road conditions can change rapidly.
