Oklahoma – Governor Kevin Stitt issued a statement criticizing Attorney General Gentner Drummond over his opposition to a major economic development project planned for Inola, describing the effort as one of the largest projects in Oklahoma history.
In the statement, Stitt said the project, which he said has the backing of President Donald Trump, would strengthen a critical supply chain and provide long-term economic benefits for Oklahoma and the nation.
Stitt accused Drummond of changing his approach following Trump’s endorsement in Oklahoma’s gubernatorial race and alleged that the attorney general was using his office to target the project for political reasons.

According to the governor, the proposed aluminum project in Inola would help expand Oklahoma’s economy and strengthen America’s supply chain for future generations. Stitt argued that opposing the development would hinder economic growth and investment opportunities in the state.
The governor also claimed that Drummond was prioritizing political interests over the needs of Oklahomans, while emphasizing his support for the project and its potential economic impact.
Drummond’s office has raised concerns about the project, leading to an ongoing dispute between the governor and attorney general over the development and its future in Oklahoma.
