Oklahoma Highway Patrol shares footage of trooper struck by driver with neurological condition who may have been unfit to operate vehicle on I-35

Oklahoma – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that a trooper was struck by a vehicle while conducting a rolling roadblock on Interstate 35.

According to officials, Trooper Joshua Harrington and Trooper Dustin Atnip were slowing traffic in the northbound lanes near mile marker 3 on March 25 as construction crews worked ahead.

A truck reportedly drove through the roadblock and sideswiped Harrington’s patrol vehicle at highway speeds while the trooper was traveling at approximately 5 miles per hour.

Both the trooper and the driver were evaluated by EMS at the scene and are expected to be okay.

Authorities said the driver involved has a neurological condition and may not have been fit to operate a vehicle.

Officials also reminded the public that concerns about a driver’s ability can be reported through a driver review request process.

OHP shared the video on their social media account.
