Lawton residents advised of potential delays at Utility Payment Drive-Thru due to increased traffic

Lawton, OK – The City of Lawton, Oklahoma, has issued an important update for residents using the utility payment drive-thru. The city advises that wait times may increase during peak periods, particularly around the 1st of the month, when both the inside of City Hall and the drive-thru tend to experience higher traffic volumes.

Peak times for the drive-thru are typically Mondays, Fridays, and the first and last weeks of each month. During busy hours from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., residents can expect longer wait times.

In response to this, the city is set to receive a new card reader machine to help reduce delays. Additionally, the city encourages residents to consider alternative payment options such as online payments or setting up autopay through the self-service portal, with assistance available at City Hall for those needing help with autopay.

Residents are also reminded that the after-hours payment kiosk is temporarily out of service, but payments can still be made using the drop box available after hours.

The City of Lawton thanked residents for their understanding and patience as they continue to improve the efficiency of utility payment processing.
