Lawton, OK – The Lawton Fire Department held the first night of its Citizens Fire Academy this week, welcoming participants for an introductory session focused on department history and community engagement.
Officials said the opening night provided an opportunity for attendees to meet firefighters and learn more about the department’s background and operations.
The Station 1 crew also gave participants a tour of the fire station as part of the program.
The department said it is looking forward to the second week of the academy as the community education series continues.
