Lawton, OK – The City of Lawton is excited to announce a significant upgrade to Greer Park’s Kids Zone.
After serving the community for two decades, the current play area is set for deconstruction, beginning on March 4, 2025, to make way for a new and improved space that will better serve local families.
Funded by the PROPEL CIP 2040 initiative, the project will take approximately three months to complete, with an anticipated reopening in mid-June 2025.
The redesign will enhance the space, offering more fun and excitement for children while ensuring safety and inclusivity.
As part of the project, handprints and bricks from the old play area will be carefully preserved and maintained in their original locations, keeping a piece of history intact for future generations.
During the construction phase, safety remains a top priority, and the area will be clearly marked as a construction zone.
Lawton is dedicated to providing a safer and more engaging environment for its youngest residents to enjoy. For further details and to view concept drawings, visit the PROPEL 2040 page.
