Altus, OK – The Altus Police Department is investigating a homicide that took place on Thanksgiving Day in the 2800 block of Shiloh Lane. On Thursday, November 28, emergency responders from both the Altus Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to the scene of a reported vehicle fire. Upon extinguishing the flames, responders discovered a deceased individual inside the vehicle.
According to police reports, 52-year-old Tammy Lockman has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the incident. She was taken into custody shortly after the fire was extinguished. Police have not yet publicly identified the deceased person, as the body has been sent to the medical examiner’s office for further investigation and identification.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. As of now, no further details have been released, and the police have not disclosed whether the victim and suspect were known to each other.
