Lawton, OK – The City of Lawton is reminding residents and visitors about temporary road closures and parking restrictions planned for the Lawton Rangers Longhorn Cattle Drive during the city’s 125th Birthday Celebration.
The restrictions will be in place Saturday, Aug. 8, as part of the celebration festivities. Roadblocks are scheduled from approximately 8 to 9:30 a.m., with the cattle drive taking place from 8:30 to 9 a.m.
The City of Lawton said the temporary restrictions are necessary to allow the cattle drive to safely travel through the planned route.
Officials advised attendees to review the event map before arriving. Areas marked in red indicate the cattle drive route and no-parking zones. Yellow areas identify parking locations that must be entered before 8 a.m. and are expected to reopen around 9 a.m. Green areas show parking areas with open access.
The city encouraged residents attending the celebration to plan ahead, arrive early, and follow posted restrictions during the event.
Lawton’s 125th Birthday Celebration will include a variety of community activities, with the Longhorn Cattle Drive serving as one of the featured events.
