Lawton Police Department arrests woman in connection with homicide investigation after suspect confesses to killing 

Lawton, OK – The Lawton Police Department announced an update in a homicide investigation that began earlier this month after a deceased individual was discovered at a residence.

On May 8, 2026, emergency responders were dispatched to 705 SW Washington in reference to a deceased person. The victim was later identified as Darrell Edgar.

During the investigation, detectives determined the death was a homicide. Authorities said investigators developed Natasha Rhine as a possible suspect in the case.

According to police, Rhine was questioned by detectives and later confessed to the murder of Edgar.

On May 27, 2026, Rhine was taken into custody and booked into the city jail on a charge of first-degree murder.

The Lawton Police Department said it recognizes the loss suffered by the victim’s family and extended condolences to loved ones during what it described as a difficult time.

Officials also credited members of the Criminal Investigation Division for their work on the case and their efforts to bring the investigation forward.

The case remains under investigation as it proceeds through the legal process.
