Lawton city council honors employees and community group for outstanding clean-up efforts 

Lawton, OK – The Lawton City Council recognized two groups for their dedication to keeping the city clean and welcoming.

Members of the Stormwater and Solid Waste Divisions received the Employee Spotlight Award for their work during the Community Cleanout. Despite having fewer workers than in previous years, the team collected significantly more debris, contributing to the event’s success.

Those recognized included Micheal Hawkins, Danny Hamblin, Antonio Chavez, Dylan LaFrance, Geraldo Valladolid, Donald Beaty, Jonathan Thode, Robert Smith, and Frederick Moore.

The community group Ellipsis received the City of Lawton Clean Sweep Award, accepted by Jocelyn Wood. Ellipsis has adopted NW 38th Street and NW 67th Street, regularly removing litter and helping maintain a clean and welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

City officials expressed their gratitude to all participants for their hard work and commitment to keeping Lawton looking its best, highlighting the importance of community involvement in maintaining a safe and attractive city.
