Oklahoma – Last month, 16 highly trained troopers from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol underwent rigorous tryouts for the prestigious Emergency Response Team (ERT), a specialized unit known for selecting only the most proficient officers.
Candidates faced challenging physical fitness tests, firearms proficiency evaluations, and a high-pressure oral board to determine their suitability for this elite team. After the intense selection process, just four troopers earned their place on the Emergency Services Unit.
The OHP Emergency Response Team is a mobile field force equipped and trained to manage a variety of critical missions. These include riot and crowd control, search and rescue operations, large-scale perimeter security, and providing support to the OHP Tactical Team during high-risk law enforcement actions.
This demanding selection process ensures that only the best-trained and most capable troopers join the ERT, maintaining a high standard of readiness for the most challenging situations in Oklahoma.
