Williams, a distinguished business leader with over 30 years of experience in investment, business, and civic leadership, is set to bring his expertise to the prestigious role. His deep ties to Oklahoma’s higher education and healthcare institutions make him a valuable asset in shaping the future of the University of Oklahoma.
“Rainey Williams is a respected leader with a heart for service and a sharp eye for smart investments,” Governor Stitt said. “His business experience, combined with his longstanding commitment to education and public health, makes him a natural fit to help guide the University of Oklahoma into its next chapter.”
Williams currently serves as president of Marco Holding Corporation, a general partner for several private investment partnerships across Oklahoma, Texas, and the Southwestern United States. Under his leadership, Marco has specialized in investments across private equity, real estate, and other alternative assets for more than 25 years.
Beyond his business accomplishments, Williams has also demonstrated a strong commitment to public service. He currently holds several key leadership positions, including chair of the University Hospitals Authority and Trust, chair of OU Health, Inc., and chair of the Investment Committee for the Presbyterian Health Foundation. Additionally, Williams is the lead independent director at BancFirst Corporation and has been involved in various board roles with organizations such as American Trailer Works, Benham Investment Holdings, and Titan Spine.
Williams’ dedication to education is also evident through his role as an adjunct professor in the MBA program at the University of Oklahoma’s Price College of Business, where he has taught aspiring business leaders.
“I’m honored by the opportunity to serve on the OU Board of Regents and support the university’s mission of academic excellence, innovation, and public impact,” said Williams. “OU plays a vital role in shaping our state’s future, and I’m grateful to Governor Stitt for the trust he’s placed in me.”
