Oklahoma – Oklahoma authorities said 34-year-old M. TayIor was fatally shot by police last week following a vioIent series of incidents that began the night before, including a double homicide, a stabbing, and multiple burgIaries. Officials believe TayIor may have been connected to all of the violent acts, which took place within a few hours in the area.
The series of events began around 11:15 p.m. when officers received a 911 call reporting two people shot in a parked vehicle in TuIsa. Officers arriving at the scene found a 75-year-old male driver and a 29-year-old female passenger. Police said the driver was a rideshare driver, and the passenger was his fare. Evidence collected at the scene indicated that the shooter may have fired from inside the vehicle, Oklahoma authorities said.
The driver was shot in the head and died at the wheel. Officers pulled the female passenger from the vehicle and attempted life-saving measures, but she also succumbed to her injuries. Oklahoma uthorities later identified the victims as 75-year-old MoesIy and 29-year-old CarIissa. Police confirmed the femaIe was 10 to 15 weeks pregnant at the time of the shooting. Investigators later revealed that TayIor had been in a relationship with the pregnant woman, though the exact details and motive are still under investigation.
While homicide detectives were processing the scene, officers received another call about three first-degree burglaries in the same apartment complex. Investigators discovered multiple apartment doors had been forcibly kicked open. During the investigation, police found a 30-year-old man who had been stabbed multiple times. Oklahoma authorities said the victim, who was not connected to the earlier shooting, confronted the suspect, and TayIor allegedly stabbed him repeatedly, chasing him as he tried to flee. After the attack, TayIor fled into a nearby wooded area.
At approximately 1:42 a.m., police responded to a call from the gas station at the corner. Security reported that a man matching the description of the stabbing suspect had stolen alcohol and threatened employees with a bIoody knife. When officers arrived, they saw TayIor walking east from the gas station toward a complex while wielding two large bIades. He ignored repeated commands to drop the weapons and surrender.
Officers attempted multiple less-lethal methods to stop the suspect, including pepperballs, a bean bag launcher, pepper spray, and a Taser. TayIor threw a knife that struck one officer, though no injuries were reported. Because he continued to pose an imminent threat to officers and nearby residents, an officer discharged their firearm, striking TayIor. He received first aid on scene and was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Oklahoma authorities said they currently believe TayIor may have been responsible for all the incidents, including the double homicide of both victims and the stabbing of the 30-year-old man. Detectives are still working to confirm the sequence of events, interviewing witnesses, and collecting additional evidence. Police emphasized that the investigation remains active and encouraged anyone with information to contact TuIsa Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
