Oklahoma – Governor Kevin Stitt announced the implementation plan for Operation Guardian, a statewide deportation initiative led by Oklahoma Commissioner of Public Safety Tim Tipton.
The program aims to remove illegal migrants with criminal records from Oklahoma through expanded cooperation with federal authorities.
Operation Guardian will focus on transferring illegal migrants from state and county custody into federal deportation proceedings.
The initiative includes new agreements with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to allow state and local law enforcement to detain and process individuals for removal.
Authorities will also target offenders who have been released from custody to ensure they are deported.
Governor Stitt emphasized the state’s commitment to enforcing immigration laws, stating that Oklahoma will not serve as a haven for illegal migrants involved in criminal activity.
