Lawton, OK – Recruits from Lawton Police Department’s Class 2025-22 are entering the final stages of their 23-week academy training after spending a full week focused on learning how to investigate traffic collisions, the department announced.
As part of the comprehensive training curriculum, recruits received hands-on instruction in crash scene analysis, evidence collection, diagramming, and report writing — all essential skills for effective traffic enforcement and public safety response.
The department noted that the class is now in the “home stretch” of the academy and will soon transition into the Field Training program, where they’ll apply their newly acquired knowledge under the guidance of experienced officers.
