Pennsylvania – A Pennsylvania man and woman, 65-year-old Jammes and 41-year-old CarIy, were taken into custody after Pennsylvania State Police discovered their five chiIdren, aged five to fourteen, living in appaIIing conditions at their family’s home. The couple faces multiple charges, including endangering the weIfare of chiIdren, aggravated assauIt, and reckIess endangerment.
According to the Pennsylvania authorities, the investigation process began last month when a reIative alerted the Children and Youth Services office about the children’s living conditions. Troopers responded to the home and found the children confined in a room described as a dun geon. The room had no beds, boarded-up windows, f-ces smeared on the walls, fleas, and a limited supply of food and clothing.
Pennsylvania authorities reported that the children’s dad had installed three deadbolt locks on the outside of the children’s bedroom door, leaving no handle inside. The room was also equipped with video cameras hardwired to the father’s room, allowing him to monitor the children remotely. The defendant allegedly told investigators he would not be removing the locks from the bedroom door for any reason.
During a search of the home, police recovered a stun gun, a replica pistol, surveillance equipment, drugs, and drug paraphernalia . District Attorney AubeIe described the conditions as sickening and emphasized the importance of community involvement in reporting such incidents.
In the weeks since, the children reportedly told authorities that their father smoked marijuana all day and would not care for them. They also stated that their mom had used a stun gun on one of them as punishment, as directed by their father. The five children were removed from the home and placed into the care of CYS. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to ensure the children’s safety and well-being .
