Lawton, OK – Lawton firefighters took part in the OKC 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb to honor the 343 FDNY firefighters and other first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice during the September 11, 2001, attacks.
The firefighters began the climb as a tribute to those who responded to the attacks and lost their lives while serving others.
The Lawton Fire Department said the event was a time to remember the courage and sacrifice of the first responders who never made it home.
The department shared a message of remembrance, saying the firefighters’ courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
The OKC 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is held annually to honor the first responders who died on September 11, 2001, while responding to the attacks.
