Lawton, OK – The Lawton Police Department continued recognizing National Police Week by honoring officers who lost their lives after years of service to their communities.
In a social media post shared Wednesday, the department highlighted members of its Honor Guard standing watch over a retired officer’s casket, calling it a reminder of the sacrifices tied to the profession of law enforcement.
The department said law enforcement is more than a job and described it as a lifelong commitment to serving others with honor, courage, and dedication.
Officials also reflected on the officers who came before them and those who have died in the line of duty, saying their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
During National Police Week, the department said it honors every officer who answered the call to serve in what it described as a noble profession.
