Lawton, OK – The Lawton Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance on May 6, 2026, near the 2600 block of Northwest Cheyenne.
According to the department, officers located an individual experiencing a mental health crisis inside a vehicle alongside another person.
Officials said police negotiators were able to de-escalate the situation and safely assist the individual out of the vehicle so they could receive appropriate care.
The department stated that the situation was resolved without further incident and encouraged the public to follow their channels for additional updates and information.
