Lawton, OK – The Lawton Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire early this morning at a residence in the 1700 block of SW C Avenue, where multiple occupants were believed to be trapped inside.

Fire officials said crews were dispatched at approximately 4:01 a.m. Upon arrival, first responders found the home heavily involved in flames. Firefighters quickly initiated rescue operations, making entry through the rear of the residence.

During the search, firefighters located and removed a child from the home. Shortly afterward, additional crews arriving on scene assisted with continued search efforts, resulting in the rescue of a second child.

Life-saving measures were immediately performed at the scene by firefighters, officers from the Lawton Police Department, and personnel from Memorial Health EMS. Multiple EMS units responded to assist with treatment and transport.

Authorities reported that two children were transported from the scene and later airlifted to an Oklahoma City hospital in critical condition. An adult occupant was also transported for injuries sustained during the incident. Other individuals inside the home at the time were able to exit safely.

Fire Chief Jared Williams expressed concern for the family and praised the coordinated emergency response. Officials said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
