Lawton, OK – Renovation work continues to advance on McMahon Memorial Auditorium as Phase I of the project brings significant behind-the-scenes improvements to one of Lawton’s most well-known cultural landmarks.
City officials reported that construction crews have completed major infrastructure upgrades on the east side of the building. While much of the work is not immediately visible to the public, the improvements are designed to extend the life of the facility and enhance safety, accessibility, and comfort for both patrons and performers.
Completed upgrades include new heating and air conditioning systems, updated mechanical spaces, a new elevator to improve accessibility, expanded restroom capacity, enhanced fire safety features, and modernized electrical and plumbing systems.
Officials noted that these improvements lay the foundation for future renovations and ensure the auditorium remains a functional and welcoming venue for years to come. Planning for Phase II of the renovation project is already underway, with additional updates expected as work continues.
