Ohio – An Ohio woman was arrested this week after being charged with a series of vioIent crimes involving her severaI chiIdren, according to court filings and law enforcement officials. The woman, identified as 37-year-old AnjeIicia, was taken into custody after being indicted by a county grand jury on 19 counts that include attempted murder, felonious assauIt, endangering chiIdren and se-ual lmposition. She is being held in the county justice center on a $500,000 bond and has pleaded not guilty to all charges. Prosecutors have also secured an order barring her from contacting her children as the case moves forward.

The investigation into the parent’s conduct began after Ohio authorities were made aware of possible abuse involving the three children in her care, ages fourteen, eight and two. Local law enforcement and the County Prosecutor’s Office reviewed allegations that the children had suffered ongoing physical harm over an extended period, with evidence indicating repeated incidents of vioIence and mistreatment in the family home. While officials have not publicly detailed exactly how the inquiry was first initiated, court documents and statements from prosecutors indicate that information from outside witnesses or reports from concerned individuals triggered the examination of the children’s wellbeing.

Throughout the investigation, prosecutors gathered multiple accounts and physical evidence that suggested the children had been subjected to extreme force and attempts to drown them in a bat htub. According to prosecutors, the mother forcibly fiIIed a bathtub with water and held each of the children’s heads under the surface while yelling threats, including a statement that she was going to kiII them. Investigators allege this occurred in the family residence in Ohio, with a pattern of abusive behavior spanning from 2021 through April 2025.

In addition to the alleged bathtub incidents, law enforcement officials said she struck the children with belts, metal clasps from a leash and other objects, choked them until they lost consciousness and beat them repeatedly. One of the children was allegedly sIammed onto the fIoor with such force that they stopped breathing, forcing another chiId to administer lifesaving CPR until emergency responders arrived.

During the course of the investigation, officers documented injuries and collected statements from medical professionals, family members and witnesses who described the children’s physical and psychological state. The severity of the children’s injuries and the repeated nature of the alleged abuse led prosecutors to pursue multiple counts of attempted murder and felonious assault, which carry significant potential prison terms if she is convicted at trial.

Prosecutors also included charges of child endangerment in the indictment, reflecting the ongoing risk posed to the children by the defendant’s alleged conduct. Ohio law defines child endangering as creating a situation that poses a substantial risk to a child’s health or safety, and the multiple counts reflect a determination by authorities that the woman’s actions went well beyond discipline or normal parenting practices.

A separate charge of se-ual lmposition is also part of the indictment, and prosecutors have indicated that it pertains to an incident involving one of the children, though specific details have not been publicly released due to the sensitivity of the matter and protections for minors involved in legal proceedings.

Her attorney entered a plea of not guilty on all counts, and the judge set bond at $500,000 with conditions that include no contact with her children. Prosecutors asked that the defendant be kept away from minors and supervised closely while the case proceeds. Defense attorneys have indicated they intend to vigorously contest the allegations, though formal motions and hearings are still pending as the next steps in the legal process.
