Lawton, OK – The Lawton Police Department released an update late Sunday evening regarding a report of a child being picked up by an unknown man near 28th Street and I Avenue on November 29, 2025. The department thanked the Lawton Fort Sill community for sharing information and assisting officers throughout the investigation.
According to the update issued at 9:15 p.m., investigators found no evidence of a crime at this stage. The department also confirmed that no parent or guardian had reported a missing child since officers initially responded to the scene. Officers, along with other emergency personnel, conducted a thorough search of the area, and the Criminal Investigation Division will continue to review any new leads that may come in.
The original report stated that around 6 p.m., witnesses saw a young child being picked up by an older Black male and placed into a late-1990s lifted burgundy Ford pickup with a red Oklahoma tag. The child was described as a white male, approximately 4 years old, with blonde hair, wearing grey sweatpants, blue Sonic shoes, and a blue jacket. Witnesses said the child appeared unfamiliar with the man.
While the department continues its follow-up, officials emphasized that no missing juvenile has been reported to them in connection with the incident. Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is asked to contact Emergency Communications at 580-581-3272.
