Troopers urge caution for July 4 travel as cruiser contest voting continues

Oklahoma – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is reminding the public to stay safe this Fourth of July weekend, as part of its ongoing Tuesday with a Trooper series. In this week’s update, Lt. Mark Southall (#81) addressed holiday safety ahead of the busy travel and celebration period.

The Highway Patrol is also encouraging Oklahomans to continue voting in the “Best-Looking Cruiser Contest,” an annual national competition hosted by the American Association of State Troopers. As of the latest update, Oklahoma’s entry is in fifth place.

The top 13 states with the most votes will be featured in the 2026 “America’s Best-Looking Cruiser” calendar, with the winning cruiser appearing on the cover. Voting remains open to the public.
