Lawton Fort Sill Freedom Festival returns June 27-28 with music, food, contests, and fireworks

Lawton, OK – The City of Lawton is gearing up for the 11th Annual Lawton Fort Sill Freedom Festival, set to light up Elmer Thomas Park over two exciting nights, June 27 and 28. The event promises a packed schedule filled with live music, food vendors, family-friendly activities, and spectacular drone and fireworks shows.

Festival highlights include the Classic Lawton Chevrolet Soap Box Derby Race sponsored by Comanche Lumber, the Bar-S Hot Dog Eating Contest, and the popular Saturday Gurney Races — all offering cash prizes for participants. Active duty soldiers can enter the competitions for free to compete for bragging rights. Registration is open now at SWOKarts.com.

Music lovers can look forward to an energetic lineup on the Freedom Festival stage. Friday night features Butter & the Genre, a jazz-funk band from Oklahoma City known for their smooth horns and soulful grooves. Saturday’s entertainment includes a magical performance by Disney Princesses, perfect for families, followed by Ashes & Arrows, a country-rock duo fresh from America’s Got Talent Season 19.

Alongside the contests and live music, attendees can enjoy bounce houses, vendor booths, and nightly drone and fireworks shows on both Friday and Saturday evenings.
