Lawton crews complete major water main repair on Ferris Avenue, roadway assessments underway

Lawton, OK – Crews in Lawton, Oklahoma, have completed significant repairs on a ruptured 24-inch water main near NW 13th Street and Ferris Avenue.

The break, which occurred in a major section of pipe, prompted the replacement of a 10-foot segment, a task that required extensive work and caused temporary disruptions to water service in nearby neighborhoods and schools, including Whittier Elementary.

After the repairs were finalized, the site was backfilled, and the city’s Street Division is now assessing the extent of any damage to the surrounding roadway.

Once the necessary repairs are made and all inspections are complete, Ferris Avenue will be reopened to traffic.

City officials have thanked residents for their patience and stated that further updates will be provided as the work progresses toward completing the road’s reopening.
