Oklahoma – Trooper Brett Haight of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol was honored with the Trooper of the Year Public Safety Award at the VFW State Conference.
His supervisors nominated him for his exceptional work in arresting impaired drivers and individuals involved in illegal drug activities.
Trooper Haight, who graduated from the 72nd Academy of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol on December 15, 2023, has already made a significant impact in his short career.
He has responded to approximately nine traumatic fatalities, many of which were caused by impaired drivers.
Recognizing the persistent threat of illegal drugs in communities, Trooper Haight has dedicated himself to enhancing the safety of Oklahoma’s roadways for families.
In 2024, Trooper Haight made 39 arrests for impaired driving and 12 arrests for illegal drug activity. Overall, he arrested a total of 62 individuals involved in various illegal activities.
His commitment to protecting Oklahomans and keeping the roads safe has earned him this prestigious recognition.
