Moore Police Seize Stolen Vehicle, Drugs, and Contraband During Routine Traffic Stop

Lawton, OK — In a routine traffic stop on Tuesday, officers with the Moore Police Department made a major bust, recovering a stolen vehicle and uncovering a significant cache of illegal drugs and paraphernalia. The vehicle, which had been reported stolen in Houston, Texas, was located and stopped near SW 19th Street and Broadway Avenue in Moore.

According to Moore Police Department officials, officers conducted a search of the vehicle after pulling it over, leading to the discovery of more than just a stolen car. Hidden beneath the floorboard, police found a haul of illicit substances, including 70 bags of black-market marijuana, methamphetamine, 50 THC vapes, and three large containers of THC wax, each weighing 1,000 grams.

The discovery of the drugs raised immediate concerns about a larger, potentially organized operation. Ledgers were also found in the vehicle, suggesting the possibility of tracking sales or distribution of the illegal goods. THC wax, a highly concentrated form of cannabis, is particularly potent and has been a growing concern in states where cannabis is either illegal or tightly regulated.

While the stolen vehicle itself was of interest, the quantity and nature of the drugs found inside indicate the presence of a more complex criminal enterprise. The vehicle’s driver, whose identity has not been released, was taken into custody for questioning. Charges related to drug trafficking, possession of controlled substances, and the theft of the vehicle are expected to be filed.

The Moore Police Department’s swift response has been praised by local authorities, with Chief of Police acknowledging the significance of the find. “This stop highlights the importance of our officers’ vigilance. Not only did they recover a stolen vehicle, but they also dismantled a significant drug operation in the process,” the chief said in a statement.

As investigations continue, Moore Police are working with federal agencies to track the origins of the stolen vehicle and the drugs, and to identify any potential connections to larger criminal networks. The arrest marks another significant effort by law enforcement to tackle illegal drug trafficking and organized crime in the region.

Authorities encourage anyone with information about the case or similar activities to come forward as the investigation progresses.
