Oklahoma – A semi-truck crash on the Will Rogers Turnpike near Vinita, Oklahoma, disrupted traffic but fortunately resulted in no injuries.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP), the incident occurred on April 27 at mile marker 289.

The driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel, causing the truck to crash into the center barrier, breach it, and overturn into the westbound lanes.

The vehicle was transporting 40,000 pounds of strawberries at the time of the accident.

Emergency responders arrived promptly, and the OHP Dive Team assisted in the recovery efforts. Despite the severity of the crash, no injuries were reported.

The incident significantly impacted traffic flow, leading to delays as crews worked to clear the scene. Authorities urge drivers to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel in areas affected by flooding and road closures.

The OHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash and reminds drivers of the importance of staying alert and well-rested while operating vehicles, especially on long-distance routes.
