Oklahoma Highway Patrol releases footage of pursuit and arrest of robbery suspect on I-40

Oklahoma – On March 23, Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) troopers assisted the Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office in a high-speed pursuit involving robbery suspect Dallas Steele.

Steele had allegedly robbed a gas station in McIntosh County using a firearm and fled westbound on I-40. Pottawattamie County deputies soon located Steele’s vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but Steele fled the scene, initiating a pursuit.

OHP trooper Daniel Metzger responded to assist in the pursuit (VIDEO) and conducted a successful tactical vehicle intervention (TVI), safely bringing the chase to an end.

Steele remained inside his vehicle, unresponsive to commands, and was suspected to still be armed. For about ten minutes, law enforcement officers worked to safely apprehend him.

Eventually, after a tense standoff, Steele was taken into custody by both OHP and Pottawattamie County deputies. He was booked on multiple charges, including robbery with a weapon, a felony, and possession of a firearm after a felony conviction.

The OHP expressed their gratitude for working alongside their law enforcement partners to apprehend Steele, emphasizing their continued commitment to making Oklahoma a safer place.
