Oklahoma Highway Patrol detailed sentencing in high-speed chase case

Oklahoma – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol released details on the sentencing of Trevor McManus, who stole a Ram TRX from a Glenpool dealership on July 20, 2024. When Glenpool Police attempted to stop him, McManus fled at speeds reaching 120 mph, prompting officers to request assistance from troopers.

Troopers Patrick Cantrell and Elijah Presley responded, with Trooper Cantrell intercepting McManus near Hectorville. After the stolen truck ran out of fuel, McManus tried to escape on foot before being pursued and arrested by Cantrell.

On September 12, an Okmulgee County jury found McManus guilty, sentencing him to 10 years for eluding, 17 years for possessing a stolen vehicle, and 1 year for obstructing justice.

The patrol expressed gratitude to Okmulgee County District Attorney Carol Iski and her team, the jury members, and partner agencies including the Okmulgee County Sheriff’s Office and Glenpool Police Department. Officials also recognized the courage and professionalism of Troopers Cantrell and Presley, crediting their actions with preventing further danger.

According to the patrol, the case highlighted the importance of collaboration and community commitment to public safety, while serving as a warning to those who choose to flee from law enforcement.
