Oklahoma — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has recognized the retirement of a longtime lieutenant, marking the end of a distinguished 40-year career in public safety and service to the state.
The trooper began his career in 1985 as a Capitol Patrolman with the Department of Public Safety and went on to graduate from the 46th Oklahoma Highway Patrol Academy in 1991. He was first assigned to Troop A, serving Cleveland and McClain Counties, where he remained until 2003.
In recognition of his service following the Oklahoma City Bombing, he received the Trooper of the Year award in 1995. He later transferred to Troop ES, providing security for the Lieutenant Governor, and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2004. He concluded his career with Troop R, where he had served since 2005.
Over the years, he played a critical role in high-profile events at the State Capitol, including presidential visits, large-scale rallies, and gubernatorial inaugurations. He also contributed as a law enforcement driver training (LEDT) instructor.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol thanked him for his commitment and service, offering best wishes for a well-earned retirement.
