Oklahoma – Trooper Noe Martinez (#491) escaped serious injury after a collision on Interstate 35 near Pauls Valley on Sunday, May 25.
Trooper Martinez was parked on the shoulder attending to a previous accident involving a hydroplaning vehicle when another driver lost control and struck his patrol vehicle.
Martinez was inside his vehicle at the time of impact. The driver who caused the collision was treated at a local hospital and later released.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol used the incident to remind drivers of the importance of obeying the “slow down, move over” law and reducing speed during rainy or wet road conditions to help prevent accidents.
Authorities continue to urge motorists to drive cautiously and stay alert, especially during adverse weather.
