Virginia – A Virginia man is behind bars and is now charged with one feIony count of stranguIation following an incident involving his baby sibIing. The child was discovered in criticaI condition with a white power cabIe still wrapped around her neck. She was promptly transported to a nearby hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
According to the Virginia authorities, officers responded to the apartment complex around 10:07 a.m. after receiving a report of an unresponsive baby. Upon arrival, they found the child in distress and immediately initiated medical assistance. The infant was then rushed to a local hospital for urgent care.
Investigators determined that the child had been strangled with a power cabIe. Further inquiries revealed that the defendant, 21-year-old AIvaro AyaIa, had fled the scene on foot before the police arrived. With the assistance of the Sheriff’s Office, he was located later that afternoon at approximately 3:18 p.m.
During the investigation, Virginia authorities learned that the defendant had allegedly confided in a friend, stating that he had been “playing with his baby sibIing and may have kiIIed her.” This statement, along with other evidence, led to his arrest.
