Lawton Police manage traffic delays following Apache Casino fireworks show

Lawton, OK – According to the police officials, drivers experienced traffic delays Wednesday night as the Lawton Police Department managed congestion caused by the fireworks show at Apache Casino.

According to officials, traffic in the area of Lucky Lane and Gore Boulevard was reduced to a single lane during the event, leading to backups and slower movement through the area.

Police had advised motorists to use Lee Boulevard or Cache Road for east-west travel to avoid the congestion.

The department issued the advisory hours ahead of the event and was on-site throughout the evening to help direct traffic and ensure public safety. No major incidents were reported.

The fireworks show drew large crowds as Lawton residents gathered to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday.
