Lawton Man Wanted in Connection with Alleged Arson Fire

Lawton, OK — An arrest warrant has been issued for a Lawton man accused of intentionally setting fire to a home in late October. Authorities say 31-year-old Navarre Martinez is believed to have started the blaze at a residence on southwest Chaucer, and investigators are now seeking his capture.

According to court documents, Martinez allegedly set the fire after learning from friends about the insurance payouts they received after their own homes had burned down. Police say that during the investigation, they uncovered evidence suggesting Martinez deliberately started the fire with the intention of benefiting from a similar insurance claim.

Martinez faces charges of second-degree arson, a felony offense. Court records show that his bond has been set at $25,000.

The incident has raised concerns in the community about the potential for arson-related crimes, as authorities continue to investigate the case. Local law enforcement is urging anyone with information regarding Martinez’s whereabouts to come forward.

Arson in Oklahoma is a serious crime, and those convicted of second-degree arson can face significant legal penalties, including imprisonment.

As of now, Martinez remains at large, and authorities are asking the public for any assistance in locating him.
