Lawton, OK – The Lawton Fire Department announced that its newest fire truck, Engine 1, is about to begin its journey to Lawton after completing acceptance testing.
The truck was ordered in June 2022 and will make a stop at a local vendor’s shop in the coming weeks for final adjustments before being placed into service.
The department anticipates that Engine 1 will be ready to serve residents by mid-November.
According to the department, the new truck will not expand the fleet but will replace an older vehicle that is set to be retired.
The Lawton Fire Department expressed gratitude to the city’s residents, Mayor, and Council for their continued support in maintaining the department’s high standards.
